Phimosis and other related disorders can be avoided by maintaining good penile cleanliness. The following are some helpful hints for maintaining proper penile hygiene: Circumcision can provide permanent relief and prevention for men suffering from chronic or severe phimosis/paraphimosis or other foreskin concerns. The foreskin should be washed on a regular basis. Every time you take a bath, pull the foreskin back and softly rinse it with soap and water. This is done to prevent urine, dirt, germs, and other contaminants from accumulating. Wash the entire penis, including the tip, shaft, base, and scrotum. So that excessive moisture does not build up under the foreskin, use loose, ventilated underwear. To avoid bacteria that can lead to infertility, pubic hair should be eliminated.

Diagnosis

The first step in diagnosing phimosis is to conduct a standard physical examination. Your urologist will likely inquire about your health information, symptoms, sexual activity, and any penile injuries. The doctor may also check the penis for infection, tight foreskin, and other phimosis symptoms. The urologist will begin by asking about your symptoms and performing a physical examination to determine the severity of your illness. To reduce foreskin swelling, the urologist may use nonsurgical methods such as squeezing the penis with a finger or wrapping it in a tight bandage. Your urologist must be able to draw the foreskin back to its normal place once the swelling has subsided. If the foreskin remains stuck, a circumcision may be required by the urologist.
